About Me

Jocelyn EmersonI am a mystic and a contemplative through and through.  I marvel and delight in the magic and mystery found all around me, and seek out face-to-face encounters with Spirit.

My mystical journey started as a child.  I remember hearing the voice of my mother and running in to see what she wanted.  She would sometimes tell me she did not call me.  I was always stumped.  Who was calling me?

Then I heard the story of Samuel (from the Hebrew Bible).  Samuel, a prophet, heard a voice calling him and it was God.  Wow!  I could hear Spirit speaking to me.  At that young age, I did not comprehend what that meant for me in my life.  I just kept going, playing, getting into trouble, being a child.  And yet, from time-to-time mystical things would happen.

As an eight year old I knew that the realm of Spirit was where I would work for my life-time.  Growing up Christian, I thought that meant Christian ministry.  I had no idea how expansive my call would become!

Having graduated from Union Theological Seminary in 2001, I was ordained into Christian ministry.  I became a United Church of Christ (UCC) minister and pastored a few churches.

When the feeling that something was not right grew in me, I leaned my ear to Spirit listening carefully to the Voice that spoke to me.  Following Her guidance, I became a certified Spiritual Director through Kairos School for Spiritual Formation.  As I continued to follow Spirit’s lead, I sought out a shaman and began the journey to live a shamanic life, and to be trained as a shamanic practitioner.    I continue that training today.

The voice of Spirit called me to the natural world, to align myself with the healing energies of Mother Earth.  I trained as a flower essence practitioner.  Crystals speak powerfully to me.  There is so much in the natural world ready to assist us on our healing journey.

This magical, mystical voice continued to beckon me to learn energy healing through Reiki.  I trained with Maureen Conroy at the Upper Room Spirituality Center.

All along this journey, my focus and my passion has been spiritual healing.  We do not always think about needing to heal our spiritual energetic bodies.  Yet, this ordinary reality that we live in often wounds throughout our life.  We need healing for our bodies, spirits, and our soul, healing that brings us into the presence of the Sacred.

Weaving Spirituality and HealingWeaving It All Together:

About two years ago, a friend gave me her floor loom.  It has been a dream of mine to learn to weave and I jumped at receiving this beautiful gift.  When I went to warp the loom for the first time (putting the threads on so you can weave), I became quite overwhelmed.  A month later my friends were asking me how it was going with my loom, and I realized I needed help.

I reached out to a dear friend who knows how to weave.  Together we warped a loom.  She walked me through the process step-by-step.  She made sure that I understood and felt comfortable with each step before moving on.  I felt tremendously blessed to be so cared for!  And it turns out, it is not hard to warp a loom.

Now I weave.  I love it!

I have woven together all the spiritual healing modalities of my life experience into one beautiful tapestry that I want to share with the world.

Each of us has a dream we want to see manifest in our lives.  We are all seeking something.  Perhaps we have a deep desire or a dream.  Maybe we need deep healing, rest and rejuvenation.  Our souls want to guide us to move more fully into who we are created to be in this lifetime.

Those first steps can be overwhelming.  Where do we start?  How do we warp our loom for the first time?  I offer myself as a spiritual companion ready to guide you as you move more fully into yourself, into your hopes, and into your dreams.

I hope you take me up on my offer.  This is my passion, my dream, and my call — to walk with others on their life’s journey deep into their heart and soul.  I want you to come face-to-face with Spirit, achieve your life goals, attain your heart’s desire, live with hope, love and passion.

Blessed be.dessert spirituality Jocelyn Emerson
