Cooper Hawk: creating her essence

#feather, #hawkWhen I arrived here in the Albequerque area of New Mexico, it felt very different than Taos.  It is.  It is a different geography and energetic.  I wondered who would befriend me, how would I connect into the natural world around me.

Within a few weeks of arriving, all the finches were going crazy outside on my patio where I feed them.  I went to investigate.  There on a branch was a large bird.  It looked like a hawk.  It was looking toward the window, like she was awaiting my attention.

I greeted her.  There was silence between us for a few short moments, then she flew off.

I wondered if I would see her again.

A few months later, I was walking through the abandoned golf course, that is being reclaimed by the desert and borders where I live.  I followed an energetic pull and ended up next to a beautiful chest feather.  Picking it up, I wondered whose it was.

Another month passed.  I was out for a walk and there directly in my path was the most beautiful tail feather I have ever seen!  Pristine, gorgeous, amazing.

The next two weeks, one more feather each week.

I decided to look up whose feathers these were.  Well, they belong to Cooper Hawk.  As I searched for a picture I realized that is who greeted me upon my arrival.  I had begun a friendship, a connection all those months ago.  She has been present, gifting me with her beauty, healing and power.

The following morning she flew directly over my head and landed on a light post.  We spent time in silence together.  I opened my heart and felt an invitation to co-create a High Desert Essence with her.  Excitement ran through me!

So, when I got home, I followed my heart and intuition and have begun to co-create an essence with Cooper Hawk.  I am so excited to see what this essence offers.

When it is ready, I will share what I experience. For now, Cooper Hawk is doing her thing…
